Copy Editing
Typically, copy editing involves review of
- grammar,
- spelling,
- punctuation,
- terminology,
- semantic errors,
- appropriateness of style for the target audience,
- readability,
- accuracy of figures and units of measure,
- format,
- completeness.
In special cases I also offer substantive editing in selected medical fields. In addition to the above editing steps, substantive editing involves
- review of citations and cross-references,
- adaptation of the text to local requirements (localisation),
- complete redrafting of parts of the text as and when necessary.
